About us

Refugees Agency for Recovery and Rebuilding (RARR) is a humanitarian organization rooted in South Sudan, working alongside displaced communities to restore dignity, rebuild lives, and create pathways toward lasting stability. Founded on compassion and guided by practical action, we serve internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, and vulnerable families affected by conflict, displacement, and poverty.

Our work is grounded in local realities and strengthened through collaboration with communities, partners, and institutions. We believe that even in the most fragile settings, resilience can grow when people are supported with the right tools, opportunities, and hope.

Our mission

To provide life-saving humanitarian assistance while empowering displaced and vulnerable communities to recover, rebuild, and achieve sustainable livelihoods with dignity and resilience.

Our Vision

A future where every displaced family in South Sudan lives in safety, self-reliance, and hope—free from extreme vulnerability and able to thrive within resilient communities.

What We Do

Emergency Relief & Humanitarian Aid
We respond quickly to urgent needs, providing shelter support, basic supplies, and critical assistance to families affected by displacement and crisis.

Agriculture & Food Security
We equip households with seeds, tools, and training to grow their own food, strengthen livelihoods, and reduce long-term dependency on aid.

Reconstruction & Shelter Support
We help families repair and rebuild shelters, creating safer living conditions and restoring a sense of stability and belonging.

Support for IDPs and Refugees
We work directly in camps and host communities, ensuring vulnerable populations receive protection, assistance, and opportunities for recovery.

Community Development & Resilience
Through training, awareness programs, and local initiatives, we strengthen community capacity, promote peace, and support long-term development.

Emergency Food Distribution (When Needed)
While our core focus is sustainability and self-reliance, we recognize that some situations demand immediate intervention. In times of acute need, we are prepared to support food distribution efforts in partnership with donors and stakeholders committed to saving lives.

Why It Matters

In South Sudan, millions of people face displacement, food insecurity, and limited access to basic services. Ongoing instability has also increased the number of Sudanese refugees crossing into the country, placing additional pressure on already overstretched communities.

In areas like Wedweil Refugee Settlement, where we work, families—including South Sudanese returnees and newly arrived refugees—struggle to survive under harsh conditions. Many have lost their homes, livelihoods, and support systems, relying on humanitarian assistance to rebuild their lives.

These overlapping crises demand both immediate response and long-term solutions. Our work addresses urgent needs while strengthening resilience—helping communities move from survival to stability, dignity, and hope.
